How do I stop chenille cushions losing fabric-all over absolutely everything in the house!!!!!!!?

I bought black chenille scatter cushions for my livingroom. My suite is red leather - but since the arrival of the cushions it now has a film of black furr all over it, which is spreading all over the house. Have washed them but has not made it any better. I am ready to throw them away - but love the look of them !!! Please help?????
