Microfiber or Chenille Sofa?

Which is more durable and a better choice for families with children? I prefer the appearence and texture of microfiber, but I want to make a wise choice for our family. Our seude couch was NOT stain resistant, nor did it clean well on the few times it did stain, and I don't want to make the same mistake twice. Answers from people who have had both would be awesome.
